This is the stage where you think you must know all and do all. No, you don’t. Learning is a lifelong process as there are always something new every day. If only we could take it with a strike that this is a totally unplanned, unexpected journey and go head on with a positive and open mind. The outcome will be very different. T
he four stages of grief number 1. Denial and isolation 2. Angel 3. Bargaining or depression 4. Accepting. We do expect self-blame at this stage. It is a natural process. Why and how questions are often being asked by parents with special needs children.. The faster the parents ended with the why questions, the faster he or she will move on to the HOW to get the necessary help for their child. Without being said, a better chance of improvement for the child as time is of the essence for some diagnosis, especially speech for autistic children or certain surgery.
Regardless what stage our emotion is in, the key word is stay positive. Nothing works if we are negative, not being open minded. We are going to “lock” ourselves for a long haul.
